The funding is part of $150 million in grants from the U.S. Department of Labor’s TechHire program. Milwaukee will get $8 million, split between the groups Employ Milwaukee and United Migrant Opportunity Services.

The WorkIT program in Pewaukee will get $4 million to train those in southeastern Wisconsin for advanced manufacturing, IT and health care jobs.

And the Chippewa Valley Technical College is getting $5 million to train people in manufacturing, IT and broadband industries. CVTC will run its program, called the IMPACT Project, in 40 counties in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois. Read the announcement here.
