Online retail giant Amazon.com is looking for a city somewhere in North America where it can site a second headquarters that would be equal to its current one in Seattle.

Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) said on its website Thursday morning that it plans to invest more than $5 billion to build and operate the new headquarters, and up to 50,000 employees would work there. The company said there are now 40,000 employees at its 33-building, 8.1 million-square-foot Seattle campus.

“In addition to Amazon’s direct hiring and investment, construction and ongoing operation of Amazon HQ2 is expected to create tens of thousands of additional jobs and tens of billions of dollars in additional investment in the surrounding community,” the company said.
