The warning track at Miller Park was transformed into an assembly line recently as Milwaukee Brewers players, coaches and staff pitched in to build bicycles. Check out the attached slideshow to see photos from the fun event.

The activity was part of the Brewers’ “Beyond the Diamond” community initiative and the 100 new bikes assembled, helmets and locks were then donated to children served by Next Door Foundation. Joining in the effort were members of Brewers Wives, Brewers Community Foundation and Master Lock Co.

Among the players participating were pitchers Matt Garza and Jimmy Nelson, first baseman Eric Thames, catcher Manny Pinna and manager Craig Counsell.

“This event will allow children from The Next Door Foundation to have the same ‘first bike experience’ we all remember so well,” said Brewers chief operating officer Rick Schlesinger.
