The Wisconsin Supply Chain Marketplace, facilitated by the state’s Regional Leadership Council (RLC), has unveiled a Foxconn-specific directory for companies seeking potential business opportunities with the manufacturer. Madison Region Economic Partnership (MadREP) invites businesses from the eight-county Madison Region to take advantage of this tool to make the state and Foxconn aware of their products and/or services.
The goal of the Supply Chain Marketplace is to connect suppliers with buyers. It allows companies to find new customers and to reach new markets by highlighting their capabilities, and by making connections.
Since Foxconn Technology Group announced plans to build a world-class manufacturing campus in Wisconsin, the New North Inc., which initiated and hosts the directory through a grant from the U.S. Department of Defense, has been working closely with Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and its regional partners to build a supply chain directory tailored specifically to Foxconn.
MadREP is one of nine regional economic development members of the RLC, which MadREP President Paul Jadin chaired from 2015 to 2017, given access to the tool in 2016 when it launched statewide. MadREP has been working to build the directory with as many suppliers from the region, in all sectors, as possible. The recent Foxconn announcement provides a convenient and timely opportunity for companies to enter the queue to work with the Taiwanese tech giant as it gets its footing in Wisconsin.
