Twenty-seven Wisconsin companies and one Illinois firm were named Monday as subcontractors on work to develop the Foxconn Technology Group manufacturing site in Racine County.

The companies have been awarded contracts totaling $100 million to handle such work as erosion control, mass excavation, stormwater management and testing. The site development phase of the project will require 500,000 hours of work and create 800 direct and indirect jobs, Foxconn said in a statement.
