“100state of Mind” is a 30-minute podcast hosted by Trezy Peebles, a member of 100state. The podcast features Madison entrepreneurs who talk about the paths they took to starting their own ventures and tips for navigating the often hectic and unpredictable world of entrepreneurship.

“We wanted a platform to tell the stories of various Madison entrepreneurs,” says Gregory St. Fort, executive director of 100state, a nonprofit co-working community for individuals and entrepreneurs to brainstorm ideas, collaborate with like-minds and gain access to creative education. St. Fort says Madison Magazine was the right partner for the podcast because of its readership, local name recognition and its focus on all things Madison.

“There are a lot of entrepreneurs in Madison, and we want to attract that audience by giving them the kind of quality content they want, whether it’s in print or on their favorite digital device,” says Madison Magazine Editor Karen Lincoln Michel.

Michel says “100 State of Mind” will allow the magazine to expand its multimedia presence and reach more people. “The online platform of a podcast has gained popularity among a cross section of ages and generations and especially has taken hold with younger audiences,” she says.

Entrepreneurship is a topic that’s familiar to Madison Magazine readers. The magazine covers the local entrepreneurial landscape in its monthly “Startup City” column by Brennan Nardi, communications director for the Madison Community Foundation and a former editor of Madison Magazine. Michel hopes the podcast will continue that conversation by engaging those who have started their own businesses or are planning to start one.
