The African American Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin is launching a business accelerator for minority entrepreneurs in the Milwaukee region.

Rise, a 14-week program in partnership with LISC Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Urban League, begins July 9. Classes will be held at the Milwaukee Urban League.

Entrepreneurs selected will have access to $35,000 in capital funds, one-on-one mentorship and opportunities to pitch their business to investors and potential customers. The program costs $250.

​Rise was adapted from a Cincinnati-based minority business accelerator program called Mortar and is part of Ramp Up, an initiative in Milwaukee being funded by JPMorgan Chase.
