Northwestern Mutual certainly sees plenty of potential in Milwaukee startup companies. For the second time in as many days, a local startup has reported receiving an investment from the $28 billion financial services giant.

On Thursday, Bright Cellars, the Milwaukee startup that matches consumers with wine types using algorithms, said Northwestern Mutual was part of its $2.8 million round of funding. On Wednesday, online retailer Wantable Inc. said it had received an investment from Northwestern Mutual for its $1.4 million round of funding.

Other groups involved in Bright Cellars investment round were Milwaukee venture capital firm CSA Partners and Cleveland Avenue, a Chicago-based venture capital firm launched by former McDonald’s CEO Don Thompson. Read the full story here.
