The Wisconsin Technology Council and the Wisconsin Innovation Network work with a variety of organizations -- public and private; local, regional and statewide -- to help grow Wisconsin's "knowledge-based" economy.
These affiliates often work with the Tech Council and WIN on joint events, on policy issues, on communications, and on "showing the flag" for Wisconsin in regional and national forums. Wisconsin is a state rich in people and organizations pulling together to build an entrepreneurial culture and to provide high-growth opportunities for its citizens. Accelerate Madison is a networking and business support organization focused on information technology issues.
Based in Madison, the statewide BioForward is a trade association dedicated to influencing public policy, developing biotech’s image and increasing biotech research funding. It offers services that are important to biotech, biotech-related companies and associate member companies and organizations.
Centered in southeast Wisconsin, e!nnovate is an association for
high-tech professionals. It was formed to encourage the education of
mentoring of e-business in Wisconsin, and it provides members
opportunities to network with technical professionals who have similar
interests.
Forward Wisconsin is a private organization that has more than 25 years experience in attracting new businesses, stimulating the creation of employment opportunities, recruiting talent, marketing key industry clusters and increasing economic activity and investment. Its public-private partnership model continues to provide results for the State of Wisconsin and its private sector investors.
Located in central Wisconsin, Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation
is one of America's largest non-university-based, private research
organizations.
Located on a 248-acre campus on Milwaukee’s West Side, the Medical
College of Wisconsin is a private academic institution dedicated to
leadership and excellence in Education.
Momentum West is a regional economic development organization serving 10 counties in west-central Wisconsin, including three in the Twin Cities metro area. Members of Momentum West's board provide their time, expertise, and assistance in establishing annual goals and activities. They focus their efforts in five areas: economic development, international trade development, legislative affairs and relations, workforce and educational development, and tourism.
The University Research Park's primary mission is to provide space
for Wisconsin-based start-up companies and to provide an atmosphere
that is custom-designed to nurture a productive combination of economic
and technological development.
Built around two of the nation's highest ranked undergraduate and graduate programs, the UW-Madison College of Engineering is a major academic, research and technology transfer institution in Wisconsin.
Companies that become members of the UW E-Business Consortium
collaborate in peer groups with other member companies, Consortium
staff and UW-Madison faculty to make informed decisions and learn
practical, real-world e-business best practices.
UW-Madison Office of Corporate Relations is a new initiative to
better serve the increasingly complex needs of the business community
and help build a stronger Wisconsin economy in the 21st century.
UW-Madison has long been recognized as one of America's great
universities. UW-Madison's academic reputation has been rated among the top 10 in
many areas of study since 1910.
WARF is the patent and licensing organization for inventions resulting from research at the UW-Madison and, through an affiliate, and other UW System campuses. WARF's mission is to protect intellectual property developed at UW-Madison, license it to industry, and return the proceeds to support the university's basic research programs.
The Wisconsin Department of Commerce is state government's primary
agency for delivery of integrated services to businesses.
The Wisconsin Entrepreneurs' Network works with start-up companies and entrepreneurs, especially in technology-based sectors, through the UW-Extension Small Business Development Centers and its four regional directors.
