SOLD OUT! Chancellor Mone to unveil plan for campus-wide innovation programs at Jan. 14 WIN-Milwaukee
January 14, 2016 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
UW-Milwaukee Chancellor Mark Mone will unveil plans for campus-wide programs related to innovation, entrepreneurism and technology transfer at the Jan. 14 meeting of the Wisconsin Innovation Network in Milwaukee.
The meeting will also feature a brief tour of the UW-Milwaukee’s new Innovation Accelerator, 1225 Discovery Parkway, Wauwatosa. Located on what many area residents would know as the Milwaukee County Grounds near Highway 45 and Watertown Plank Road, the Innovation Accelerator is the first installment in a larger UWM Innovation Campus that will eventually fill 89 acres.
Registration, networking and hors d’oeuvres begins at 4:30 p.m. Two 20-minute tours of the facility will be offered at 4:40 p.m. and 5 p.m., with the presentation at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $10 for students, $25 for WIN members and Milwaukee County Research Park tenants, $35 for non-members and included with WIN corporate memberships.
This event is currently sold out. You may still register at the door if space is available.
Attendees are invited to stick around for a Governor’s Business Plan Contest information session following Chancellor Mone’s presentation. Tom Still, Tech Council president, and Jonathan Fritz, 12-time contest judge, will offer an overview of the contest and the benefits of participating, as well as answer attendees’ questions. This portion of the evening will begin at 6:15 p.m. Beer, wine and snacks will be provided. Those who are interested in learning more about the BPC but are unable to attend the WIN meeting, are welcome to arrive at 6:15 p.m. at no charge.
