Bench to marketplace: How businesses work with WiSys campuses featured at Feb. 11 WIN-Northeast
February 11, 2016 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
Arjun Sanga, executive director of WiSys Technology Foundation, will discuss how WiSys helps to transfer academic research and development ideas from bench to marketplace at the Thursday, Feb. 11, meeting of the Tech Council’s Wisconsin Innovation Network in northeast Wisconsin.
The luncheon will be held in the D.J. Bordini Center at the Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton on North Systems Drive. Registration and networking begin at 11:30 a.m., lunch at noon and the presentation at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $10 for WIN members and students, $20 for general admission and included with WIN corporate memberships.
Sanga will be joined by Chancellor Andrew Leavitt of UW-Oshkosh and Toivo Kallas, chief scientific officer of Algoma Algal Biotechnology LLC. They will provide a current example of how companies and campuses work with WiSys.
WiSys works hand-in-hand with inventors, researchers and students to facilitate cutting-edge research programs, identify, protect, develop and commercialize discoveries emanating from the research base as well as foster a spirit of innovative and entrepreneurial thinking on the campuses it serves.
“This discussion will provide a glimpse at how WiSys can help companies, large and small, by connecting them with university-based discoveries and know-how,” said Tom Still, president of the Wisconsin Technology Council.
This WIN-Northeast event is supported by Fox Valley Technical College.
