The Wisconsin Angel Network (WAN)

The Wisconsin Angel Network (WAN), founded in December 2004, is part of the Wisconsin Technology Council’s overall economic development and job creation efforts. As a strategic partner, WAN receives partial funding from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC).

WAN fuels the growth of capital in Wisconsin by operating as an umbrella organization providing services and resources to the early stage investing and entrepreneurial communities. WAN does not operate a fund or direct investments. WAN deploys its resources across Wisconsin through the following means:

  • Formation – helping to organize and create angel groups and funds
  • Education – expanding investors’ and entrepreneurs’ knowledge on early stage financing
  • Communications – increasing awareness and the importance of early stage investing
  • Public Policy – promoting legislation and administrative rules that enhance early stage investment
  • Networking – introducing investors and creating relationships
  • Deal-flow Management and Assistance – connecting investors and entrepreneurs
