MILWAUKEE – Speakers with hands-on knowledge will discuss the science and technology research gaps within the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security and Energy during the seventh annual “Resource Rendezvous” in Milwaukee.

The one-day conference is aimed at helping companies learn how to increase their chance of receiving federal grant dollars or research agreements. Produced by the Wisconsin Security Research Consortium and the Wisconsin Technology Council, the event will be held 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Union Ballroom on the UW-Milwaukee campus.

Early-bird registration is $99 through Sept. 6 and $119 thereafter. A student rate of $50 is available for undergraduates. All may register by clicking here or visiting http://www.wisecurity.org/

Scheduled speakers so far include:

Early stage companies can apply to present their research and product development ideas to science and technology directors during the event. Selected companies will have only four minutes and up to four PowerPoint slides to share information. There will be ample networking time before and after formal presentations. Companies will also receive space in the exhibit area.

“Presenters at past Resource Rendezvous events have established enduring connections with federal science and technology directors, and in many cases have won contracts and grants,” said Jack Heinemann, director of the Wisconsin Security Research Consortium.

Companies pay no fee to apply or to present. However, companies must first register to attend the conference in order to be considered for a presentation slot. Applications must follow a four-slide PowerPoint template and are due to JSawatzki@WisconsinTechnologyCouncil.com by 12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30. Click here for more information.

Companies selected for the Quad Pitch Presentations will be invited to attend a pre-conference practice session on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at the WSRC office in Madison.

More information about speakers will be released soon.
