Wisconsin YES!, a statewide youth business plan contest, will close to entries 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6.
All Wisconsin students in middle and high school have the opportunity to submit their ideas and receive feedback from professionals across the state. Students will learn how to write a business plan and develop entrepreneurial skills that will help them succeed in a global economy – all while competing for cash and other prizes.
Students begin by submitting a 250-word idea abstract online at www.WisconsinYES.com by 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2012. As the contest progresses students who are selected for the semi-final round will be able to further develop their ideas into plausible business plans.
The contest is open to teams and individuals by grade levels. Students in public, private, charter and home-school settings are eligible to enter. Click here to view a short video to learn more.
All phases of the contest will take place online until the final phase. Each phase will require students to further develop the details of their business plan. In late May the final phase will take place; students will present live to judges. The winner will be determined following these presentations and announced at the Wisconsin Entrepreneur’s Contest on June 6, 2012 in Milwaukee.
Launched in the fall of 2011, Wisconsin YES! is produced by the Wisconsin Technology Council and WEA Trust. Additional sponsors so far include the Milwaukee School of Engineering and the Wisconsin Health and Educational Facilities Authority.
