Dear Tech Council members and friends:

The Wisconsin Early Stage Symposium is the oldest and largest conference of its kind in Wisconsin – but that doesn’t stop us from innovating each year as the event draws near!

Here’s some of what’s on tap November 15, 16 and 17 in Madison:

  • “Investor Intros” is a speed-dating event patterned after our successful Wisconsin Tech Summit. We asked early stage investors – from “super-angels” to venture capital funds and everything in between – to meet with selected entrepreneurs for a few minutes to get acquainted. We’ll have 30 tables set up for investors to rub elbows with nearly 90 vetted companies.
  • Fifty of those same companies will present during two pitch tracks: The Tech Council Investor Track on Wednesday (28) and the Elevator Pitch Olympics on Thursday (22). Check out the 50 presenters here!
  • If you’re not already a part of “Investor Intros” or one of the pitch tracks, make sure you come to the conference and look for investors during one of our many panel discussions and networking breaks.
  • There’s a major reception Wednesday night at Monona Terrace Convention Center, where the conference will be held. There’s also one can’t-miss, off-site networking event …
  • Our second annual Wisconsin W∙O∙M∙E∙N event will kick things off Tuesday night at M3 Insurance on John Nolen Drive. We’re excited to hear from Eve Hall, president of the African-American Chamber of Commerce. Sign up for this separate event here.
  • The annual “First Look Forum” has taken on a statewide look with campus technologies from six Wisconsin universities.
  • Our speakers include three people with unique perspectives on what it takes to innovate: “AmFam Jack” Salzwedel of American Family Insurance, Lynn Allen-Hoffman of Stratatech and Jan Eddy of Wingra Software and many other endeavors.
  • We’re expecting investors from across Wisconsin, the Midwest and well beyond. They’re coming to Wisconsin because the word is out: We are home to world-class innovation, exceptional talent and a competitive business climate.
