Although its North American headquarters and massive manufacturing campus will be in Wisconsin, Foxconn Technology Group isn’t exclusively making partnerships in the state.
Last week, the Taiwanese tech giant announced a pact with the University of Cincinnati focused on artificial intelligence. The partnership centers around Cincinnati professor Jay Lee, who has worked with company chairman Terry Gou and took part in a panel before President Donald Trump‘s speech at Foxconn’s Opus Building in June.
“The Foxconn relationship with the University of Cincinnati is primarily focused on Artificial Intelligence and the Industrial Internet through UC’s Lee, who was in Wisconsin for the ground breaking late last month,” a Foxconn spokesman said. “Professor Lee has an existing relationship with Foxconn Chairman Terry Gou, and the company is tapping into Professor Lee’s well-known expertise in AI and the Industrial Internet through this targeted effort.” Read the full story here.
