Milwaukee Business Journal: If no Amazon, look to entrepreneurs for job growth in Milwaukee, community leaders say

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett was hoping Amazon.com would choose the Century City Business Park at West Capitol Drive and North 31st Street for the company’s new distribution center in Wisconsin. However, the Seattle-based online retailer has reportedly requested development proposals for the new business park at Ryan Road east of Interstate 94 in Oak Creek.

Century City Business Park had been considered, but was not pursued for the project.

Though the Milwaukee site seems to be a no-go for Amazon, Barrett is invigorated behind the idea of attracting employers to Century City, as he made clear during the Milwaukee Business Journal’s Skills Gap Flash Forum on Tuesday. Read the full story here.
