Milwaukee entrepreneur Sherry Zhang is one of the more than 25,000 women to launch a business in Wisconsin between 2007 and 2016.

In 2016, she started GenoPalate, a Milwaukee-based health tech company that uses genetic testing to help people make analytic-based changes to their diet.

This year, Zhang’s company has raised $357,065 in capital from six investors, mostly angel investors, including $50,000 from BrightStar Wisconsin Foundation Inc. Gener8tor, Wisconsin’s premier business accelerator, is also an investor, after choosing GenoPalate as one of five companies for its 12-week accelerator in 2017.
