There’s still time to register for the Wisconsin Early Stage Symposium, set for Nov. 5-6 at the Monona Terrace Community & Convention Center in Madison. The two-day event will feature speakers, panels, workshops and networking for entrepreneurs, investors and others in Wisconsin’s innovation economy.

Attendees can take part in six Office Hour workshops, offering practical advice from founders, mentors and investors:

  • Mastering technical sales: Strategies to win over customers
  • Bootstrapping and traction: Building smarter from the start
  • What happens on the other side of the pitch?
  • The road to MVP traction: Building a strong “minimum viable product” and navigating your market
  • From innovation to protection: Navigating intellectual property in an AI world
  • What not to do when starting your company

Three concurrent panels will explore how startups can grow, scale and succeed:

  • Building market validation without burning through cash
  • How to break into a difficult market as a startup
  • How to sell when you don’t have a sales team

Sixty companies will share their ideas across pitch sessions:

  • The two-minute ‘Open Mic’ Quick Pitch
  • The five-minute Tech Council Investor Network sessions
  • The fast-moving Elevator Pitch Olympics to close out the conference
  • One-on-one, prescheduled meetings with investors during “Investor Intros”

Major sessions include a forum featuring gubernatorial candidates discussing Wisconsin’s technology and economic development landscape, the Nov. 5 luncheon spotlighting new Tech Council President Maggie Brickerman and the Triple E nominees, where attendees can cast their votes for their top choice.

Attendees will also have access to the conference platform Sched, which allows direct messaging with other participants, viewing details about presenting companies, accessing the program manual and more. Pre-conference registration is encouraged to take full advantage of the platform before Nov. 5.
