MADISON — Governor Scott Walker announced that two companies, Asthmapolis and Door 6, Inc., both of Madison, have received the Qualified New Business Venture certification from the former Department of Commerce.

The QNBV status makes investors in the companies eligible for a 25-percent tax credit on the amount they invest in the businesses.

Asthmapolis was founded in August 2010 to develop asthma management solutions to include medication sensors, mobile phone apps and advanced analytics to minimize symptoms and reduce risks of asthma attacks. In 2009 four hundred units of the prototype devise were produced and have been leased out for use in clinical and epidemiological studies by academic research teams and public health agencies.

Door 6 is a mobile game development studio founded in June 2009. The company markets the mobile game “Vacuum” on Android, and has targeted its next product release, “Atmosphere”, for the iOS App Store and Android Market in the fourth quarter of 2011.
