Chris Fernandez, co-founder of EnsoData and holder of a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, has helped raise roughly $51 million in venture funding to advance the company’s AI-powered diagnostics platform and expand commercialization in sleep-health technology.
Zach Halmstad, an Eau Claire native and University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire alumnus, co-founded Jamf in 2002 after developing Mac-management tools in the university’s IT department. Under his leadership, the company secured about $30 million in venture backing and achieved a major acquisition in 2017 for about $733 million, setting the stage for its public-market debut and establishing Halmstad as one of Wisconsin’s leading tech entrepreneurs.
Fernandez and Halmstad will join Tech Council President Maggie Brickerman for a fireside chat exploring their paths from early startup formation to industry-leading success.
This session is sponsored by EUA.
Beyond this conversation, attendees can take part in hands-on workshops; hear panel discussions on core startup challenges; and connect with more than 60 presenting companies. The conference also includes one-on-one meetings with investors, a forum with gubernatorial candidates on Wisconsin’s tech and economic future, and a Nov. 5 luncheon featuring Brickerman and Triple E Award nominees.
Participants are encouraged to register prior to the deadline to access Sched, the online platform for networking, company details and program materials. Online registration closes at noon Monday, Nov. 3, and walk-ins are welcome.
