FutureQuest started in 2017, under partnership between DCSC and MMSD with a goal of provide better career awareness to MS students in Dane County. So many students are asked what do you want to do when you grow up, but very little thought went into “showing” students the many opportunities available.  The organizers wanted to create an event that allowed students not to read or watch a video about a job, but rather, to “experience” what it would be like to have a job in that field. Additionally, many students don’t realize the wide diversity of jobs available in a Hospital, or Construction company.  We set out to create a “HANDS ON” event to share these different career paths in all 16 career clusters. and sharing that information with EVERY 7th or 8th Grader in Dane County. Each year we have recruited more employer partners to share about their industry and career opportunities in each field.
