Women’s Entrepreneurship Week’s (WEWmke) history is a tribute to its mission. The organization has been run by passionate, dedicated women since its inception in 2017, starting with a series of events at Ward4 MKE. In 2019, a trio of women expanded the programming citywide and engaged about 2,700 people. After the pandemic forced WEWmke online in 2020, Andi Sciacca assumed leadership in 2021 and added a global connection to WEWmke, the Global Entrepreneurship Network. These women have designed WEWmke with their own imprint and spark, but always with a focus on lifting up women entrepreneurs.
Now WEWmke joins forces with She Stands Tall®, another organization that’s been living the WEWmke mission—spotlighting women who run businesses for five-plus years. The women of She Stands Tall® are honored to receive the WEWmke torch and commit to keeping it lit and burning brightly!
