Forty-five
early stage companies focused on diverse industries, such as an online real estate
brokerage platform, virtual human technology to train medical professionals and
in-home meal preparation for seniors, will pitch to potential investors and
others at the 2015 Wisconsin Early Stage Symposium, to be held Nov. 4-5 at the Monona Terrace Community and
Convention Center in Madison.
The conference includes two separate presentation stages: the Wisconsin Angel Network Investors’ Track and the Elevator Pitch Olympics. The WAN Investors’ Track will provide an opportunity for 28 companies to give
five-minute presentations during two sessions on Nov. 4. The 11th
annual Elevator Pitch Olympics will showcase 17 companies giving 90-second
pitches on Nov. 5. A panel of experienced investor judges will score their
pitch and provide feedback on the spot.
More than 60 companies from across
the Midwest applied to present. Of the selected companies, more than half of
the 28 are healthcare, health IT or biotech. Nine are software-related, with
others in service, agriculture and energy.
WAN Track
