“Something Ventured,” an acclaimed independent film that traces the role of venture and angel capitalists in the rise of California’s Silicon Valley, will premiere in Wisconsin Thursday, March 29, at Sundance 608 Cinemas in Madison’s Hilldale Shopping Center.

The film tells the story of a handful of risk-takers who, alongside visionary entrepreneurs, created companies such as Apple, Intel, Genentech, Cisco and Atari beginning in the 1960s. Its awards have included selections at festivals in San Francisco, Seattle, Santa Catalina and SXSW in Austin, Texas.

Visit www.wiscontechnologycouncil.com/events to register for this special event, which begins with a reception and networking at 5:30 p.m. and is followed by the film at 6:15 p.m. The film is available on the big screen one-time only through this event.

“Entrepreneurism is often fueled by angel and venture capital, which has helped build some of the nation’s most innovative local and regional economies,” said Tom Still, president of the Wisconsin Technology Council. “As Wisconsin’s innovation economy grows, it’s good to be reminded about the pioneering spirit that has lifted others to success.”

The event is produced by the Wisconsin Technology Council and its membership programs, the Wisconsin Angel Network and the Wisconsin Innovation Network.
