“Something Ventured,” an acclaimed independent film that traces the role of venture and angel capitalists in the rise of California’s Silicon Valley, will premiere in Wisconsin Thursday, March 29, at Sundance 608 Cinemas in Madison’s Hilldale Shopping Center.
The film tells the story of a handful of risk-takers who, alongside visionary entrepreneurs, created companies such as Apple, Intel, Genentech, Cisco and Atari beginning in the 1960s. Its awards have included selections at festivals in San Francisco, Seattle, Santa Catalina and SXSW in Austin, Texas.

The event is produced by the Wisconsin Technology Council and its membership programs, the Wisconsin Angel Network and the Wisconsin Innovation Network.
The Tech Council is the independent, non-profit science and technology adviser to the governor and the Legislature. WAN is the umbrella for angel groups and funds in more than two-dozen Wisconsin locations. WIN has chapters in Milwaukee, Madison, Northeast Wisconsin, Central Wisconsin, the Lake Superior region and Western Wisconsin.
