Quentin “Q” Allums hit rock bottom at 23 years old.

His recently launched virtual reality startup had tanked within months. Then his girlfriend left him, his car broke down and his dog became sick. In debt and down to his last dollar, he couldn’t even afford to buy a bar of chocolate.

Allums decided to ditch the startup and focus his energy on something else: video diaries. Every day for a year, he filmed himself speaking on camera in order to become a more articulate speaker, a more confident person and an all-around better entrepreneur.

Like most millennials, Allums posted his videos on the video platform YouTube. His videos received a pittance of views — five, 10, maybe 20. Then Allums posted a video on LinkedIn and amassed 30,000 views in a few days. Read the full story here.
