Newly released data from the U.S. Census Bureau adds to the mounting evidence that Wisconsin lags behind most states in entrepreneurship.

Nationwide, nearly 9% of businesses with employees are less than two years old, the Census Bureau’s first Annual Survey of Entrepreneurs found.

In Wisconsin, though, only 6.7% of businesses with employees are that young. Only six states rank below Wisconsin on the measure, which indicates the extent of new-business formation in an area. Read the full story here.
