Chicago software company 8th Light has acquired Adorable, a Madison-based tech startup that makes custom software and web platforms.

As part of the acquisition, announced Sunday in an 8th Light blog post, Adorable’s 11 developers and designers are joining 8th Light, but keeping their offices in Madison. Other terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Adorable has done some amazing work in the community, and we’re thrilled to be able to leverage 8th Light’s resources to deepen our investments and spread these initiatives to new communities,” said 8th Light CEO Paul Pagel in the blog post.

Founded in 2006, 8th Light designs, creates and manages custom software for businesses. Besides Chicago, the company has offices in Los Angeles, New York, Seattle and London. Across all its locations, 8th Light employs 140 people and its annual revenue ranges from $22 million to $25 million, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. In 2016, 8th Light also acquired WisdomGroup, a Chicago company that designs and develops web apps for companies.
