Businessman and Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele joined with Microsoft Corp. to give $500,000 to grow the multibillion-dollar computer company’s computer science program in the Milwaukee region.

The money will fund the expansion of Microsoft’s Technology Education and Literacy in Schools program (TEALS) in the metro area, which helps high schools build computer science programs through partnerships between classroom teachers and technology industry volunteers. One of the partners for the Milwaukee program is Northwestern Mutual.

TEALS is currently present in three Milwaukee schools, but with the added funding, the program will expand to seven schools in the 2018-2019 school year and to 25 schools over the next three years. Read the full story here.
