Grammy-nominated dance music DJ and producer Steve Aoki has a fascination with science and technology, to the extent he has reached out to executives at Google, tech entrepreneur Elon Musk and television personality and scientist Bill Nye the Science Guy to collaborate on songs for his albums.

Aoki, who will headline the Miller Lite Oasis stage on the opening day of Summerfest Wednesday night, spoke about tech’s impact on music to an audience of hundreds of members of the region’s tech community for Summerfest Tech, a two-day event focusing on tech innovation in conjunction with Summerfest. Aoki, along with a keynote presentation from Dennis Hoffman of Dell Technologies Inc., highlighted the first day of Summerfest Tech, held at Summerfest’s Johnson Controls World Sound Stage, which continues Wednesday at Discovery World with panel discussions on cybersecurity, women in technology and presentations from executives at Harley-Davidson Inc. and Johnson Controls International.
