Since its inception in 2014, Bright Cellars, the subscription-based company that uses an algorithm to sell tailored wines, has experienced tremendous growth.

Between 2016 and 2017, the company experienced a 65 percent spurt in membership. Just last fall, the company had 17,000 subscribers and 35 employees, but by March, the company grew to 20,000 subscribers and 40 employees.

To keep pace with its growth, the company, operating out of 5,000 square feet at the Ward4 co-working space in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point neighborhood, is looking to hire as many as 20 employees by the end of the year, said co-founder and CEO Richard Yau.
