Foxconn Technology Group plans a new building in Mount Pleasant for its industrial internet business, which will base its North American operations in the Racine County village.
The Foxconn Industrial Internet, or Fii, arm focuses on automation and networking systems for intelligent manufacturing. Internationally, the company has 3,736 patents that include tech to make smartphone components and internet of things tech to automate manufacturing processes.
Foxconn on Friday issued a request for proposals to hire a construction management firm for a new building for its Fii operations. That RFP includes no details on the project beyond its future location in the area south of Braun Road and east of Interstate 94 in Mount Pleasant.
