There is no doubt that the new $450 million Northwestern Mutualcorporate headquarters has had an impact on all of downtown Milwaukee. From the huge investment in Milwaukee’s central business district to the new Cream City Labs that was added in 2018 to the first floor commons area that is open to the public, the building is a hub of activity throughout the day.

Check out the attached slideshow to get a look at the unique office space.

The building was opened in August 2017 to rave reviews.

“Designed from the inside out, the Northwestern Mutual Tower and Commons supports employees in working where they work best,” the company’s nomination stated. “From flexible individual workstations to the Tower Fitness Center to the dramatic two-floor Commons Restaurant, it promotes interaction, collaboration and innovation. At the same time, expansive views and ample daylight connect us to the city around us.”

Every floor has eight enclosed rooms that can serve as offices, project rooms, study areas or other business areas, as well as a hub with coffee and vending options. Movable walls make for quick reconfiguration, so each department can arrange its space based on business needs rather than hierarchy. Read the full story here.
