Marcus Lemonis, a Marquette University graduate and chairman and CEO of multibillion-dollar Illinois-based Camping World Holdings Inc., personally gave $10,000 to a Milwaukee startup to fund their live-stream education platform Tuesday, capping off two days of panel discussions and presentations for Summerfest Tech, the second-year event created by Summerfest to highlight tech innovation.

The first day of the Summerfest Tech, held at Summerfest’s Johnson Controls World Sound Stage, drew hundreds of members of the region’s tech community and featured a keynote presentation from Dennis Hoffman of Dell Technologies Inc. and a conversation with Grammy-nominated dance music producer and DJ Steve Aoki.

The second day, which drew hundreds more and was held at Discovery World, included a keynote presentation from Sudhi Sinha, Johnson Controls International’s vice president and general manager of digital solutions, a panel discussion on cybersecurity and women in technology, and a presentation on Harley-Davidson’s new electric motorcycle LiveWire by Jon Bekefy, electric vehicle business planning manager at Harley-Davidson.

Last year, the inaugural Summerfest Tech drew about 60 people. This year, attendance grew to more than 500. Read the full story here.
