The race to be Wisconsin’s next governor is over and it is time to focus on the next four years.

That is the view many business executives and groups, who have been longtime supporters of Gov. Scott Walker, must have as they prepare to work with Gov.-elect Tony Evers. In today’s hyper-partisan environment, it is imperative that business executives give the Democrat Evers a chance and work with him on major issues to ensure the state’s economy continues at its current pace.

Compromise must be the theme in Madison as the state Legislature remains in Republican control. In order to get anything accomplished, both sides are going to have to sit down and find common ground on issues important to the business community.
