MADISON – Eleven early stage companies from Wisconsin will make presentations and meet with key people from federal agencies on Aug. 11 at the fourth annual Resource Rendezvous.
The conference, produced by the Wisconsin Security Research Consortium, the Wisconsin Technology Council and the UW-Madison College of Engineering, will be held 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11 at the UW-Madison College of Engineering, 1415 Engineering Drive.
General admission is $85 and $40 for students; all register at www.wisecurity.org.
Selected presenters will give a three-minute pitch to showcase their research and product development ideas to federal science and technology directors who will attend the Resource Rendezvous.
Here are the 11 companies selected to present in the “Rendezvous Round-up”:
ByzMed, LLC – This Cottage Grove company has a patent pending product that will stop and prevent bleeding in military patients where exertion, elevation and dryness are issues.
Compact Particle Acceleration Corp. – This Madison firm is developing a compact proton therapy system for the treatment of cancer, using dielectric-wall accelerator technology.
Echometrix, LLC – This Madison firm is commercializing a breakthrough, proprietary technology to drive the market for musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Endece, LLC – This Mequon firm has discovered a first-in-class cancer drug effective against many cancers with a known mechanism of action.
Eso-Technologies Inc. – This Middleton firm has patented a replacement cardiac monitoring probe to be inserted in the esophagus during surgery.
Kashmerick Engines Systems LLC – This Brookfield company has developed a K6-cycle engine that modifies existing 4-cycle utility engines to improve efficiency, achieve wide multi-fuel capability and reduce emissions.
LoacSys – This Madison based system is a highly sensitive, high throughput, accurate biodefense sensor.
MCW Center for Medical Countermeasures against radiological terrorism – This Milwaukee-area firm has the animal and radiation facilities needed to test agents for their ability to prevent, mitigate or treat radiation injuries to the gut, brain, kidney, lung, heart or skin.
Microbial Biosynthesis, LLC – This Madison firm is focused on genetic engineering of wild, uncultivated soil microorganisms to produce new compounds for drug discovery.
Ratio, Inc. – This Madison company is developing a microneedle drug delivery pump worn like a patch that is painless, disposable and increases the efficacy of many vaccines.
Xolve, Inc. – This Platteville nanomaterials company’s technology will fundamentally change nanomaterials, facilitating applications previously thought impossible.

The Resource Rendezvous will also provide opportunities for attendees to learn about the R&D interests and related funding opportunities of participating agencies.
