MADISON – Three conferences showcasing Wisconsin’s entrepreneurial culture and technology expertise will be held the first week of June, which Gov. Jim Doyle has declared “Entrepreneurs and Research Week” in Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference will be held Tuesday, June 1, and Wednesday, June 2, at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee, 333 W. Kilbourn. It’s a “how-to” conference focused on giving entrepreneurs the tool they need to start and grow businesses that will fit with Wisconsin’s high-growth, knowledge-based economy. The conference will also feature the awards for the first Governor’s Business Plan Contest. Please go to www.wisconsintechnologycouncil.com for a full agenda.

A conference on “Bionanotechnology: Opportunities in the Bionanotech Convergence Zone” will be held Wednesday, June 3, at the UW-Madison College of Engineering on the UW-Madison campus. A featured speaker is Dr. Jeffrey Schloss from the National Institutes of Health, one of the leaders in the national nanotechnology initiative. Nanotechnology is based on the manipulation of individual atoms and molecules to build structures at the “nano” scale, which is about 1/80,000 of the diameter of a human hair.
