— A new survey from the Wisconsin Bankers Association shows many bank CEOs and presidents are happy with the current state economy and expect it to improve.

WHA’s Bank CEO Economic Conditions Survey got responses from 100 individuals over the first two weeks of December.

About 80 percent of respondents say Wisconsin’s current economic health is good, while 9 percent say it’s excellent. And over half — 53 percent — say they expect the state economy to grow in the next six months, while 45 percent say they expect no change.

Rose Oswald Poels, WBA president and CEO, calls the survey results “very encouraging news.”

“Our bankers have a unique perspective on the economy,” she said. “Bankers are the first to see and understand Wisconsin’s economic trends because of their customers’ activities and use that information to help their communities prosper.”
