In 2015, the two made 17 deals and 16 deals, respectively, and were followed by two Illinois funds, a Colorado fund and a Missouri fund.

Overall, the region saw $3.7 billion in investments through 737 venture capital deals. That compared to $4.8 billion through 479 deals in Los Angeles, $6.7 billion through 486 deals in Boston, $7.7 billion through 803 deals in New York and $33.9 billion through 1,963 deals in the Bay Area.
