The report found those accelerators popping up in places other than the usual suspects of San Francisco, Boston and New York. There were 172 accelerators in the country between 2005 and 2015, the report found, with 40 percent of them in those three cities.

Milwaukee, though, was listed among those cities that showed “a number of surprises,” as it had more than two accelerators. Its three accelerators were gener8tor, The BREW and Victory Spark.
