NEW YORK — Wisconsin entrepreneur Toni Sikes will help lead a dedicated technology practice group formed by Gruppo, Levey & Co., a leading private investment bank in New York. Sikes, a member of the Wisconsin Technology Council, is the founder and CEO of two companies and has raised $50 million in venture capital over time.

This new practice group will focus on arranging financing and providing M&A advisory services to growing technology companies and their entrepreneurial leaders. In addition to Sikes, a senior adviser at Gruppo Levey, the group will be led by Jeff Weinberger, a principal at the firm.

Sikes brings 22 years of entrepreneurial experience to this effort, including her founding of The Guild, the nation’s leading online art retailer. She has authored several books, and is a widely recognized expert in the area of online marketing of luxury products to consumers.

Sikes serves on the boards of several technology companies, as well as national and international economic development organizations, and frequently lectures on entrepreneurism. She holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Alabama and a M.S. in Market Research from the School of Business at the UW-Madison.
