Dave Berkus, past chairman of California’s Tech Coast Angels and one of the nation’s most prolific angel investors, will speak and host a workshop at the June 8-9, 2010 Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference in Milwaukee.

A successful entrepreneur and current manager of multiple private equity funds, Berkus will help set the tone at the eighth annual conference, which is designed to inspire entrepreneurs and help them navigate the challenges of launching and growing companies.

Berkus will speak on “Dominant trends in technology: A short history of our future” at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 9 in Milwaukee.

Berkus has long been known as a futurist in the technology sector, and each year carves out 10 trends in technology that will drive innovation as well as investment. He will deliver his predictions on what trends will mark the current economy.

Berkus will also conduct a limited-seat workshop for entrepreneurs from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 9.

In this workshop, which Berkus has conducted for entrepreneur, angel and venture capitalist groups worldwide, he will teach attendees how to build a great board after the investment, form a plan for guidance and wisdom from the board, teach the five critical resources great board members can supply, teach the tender stages of managing a founder or CEO, and guide the planning for the liquidity event.

Berkus is a noted speaker, author and early stage private equity investor and is acknowledged as one of the most active angel investors in the country. He currently manages a total of three private equity funds, two devoted to early stage technology investments. His personal internal rate of return is an annualized 97 percent.

Berkus is past chairman of the Tech Coast Angels, one of the largest angel networks in the United States. He currently serves as chairman of six of his portfolio companies, and was named “Director of the Year, Early Stage Businesses” by Forum for Corporate Directors for his outstanding directorship and CEO coaching efforts. He founded his first commercial venture at the age of 15 – a phonograph record production and manufacturing company he managed through his college years, taking it public shortly after college graduation.
