The University of Wisconsin-Parkside will partner with Microsoft and Kenosha-based Ordify AI to launch a new initiative to integrate artificial intelligence into the university’s curriculum and campus operations.

The university’s goal is for students, faculty and staff to achieve AI fluency by 2028. The initiative aims to ensure that students can use AI ethically and effectively, as well as understand “when these tools add value and when they do not,” a news release says.

“Equipping our students and workforce with AI fluency directly invests in the economic vitality of southeastern Wisconsin,” said Lynn Akey, chancellor of UW-Parkside. “By training our graduates to use AI ethically and effectively, we provide regional employers with the high-level talent they need to remain competitive. This initiative extends our mission to serve as a catalyst for growth, ensuring our region leads technological shifts with integrity and vision.”
