Vantage Data Centers’ plans for a 2.5 million-square-foot data center complex were recommended for approval by Port Washington’s Design Review Board at a Tuesday meeting, a city spokesman said.

The company submitted plans for four main buildings on about 670 acres just west of Interstate 43, which will comprise the south phase of the 1,900-acre campus. The south phase alone could make the data center complex one of the largest in the country.

Architectural plans for the data center will advance to Port Washington’s Plan Commission for review at its Aug. 21 meeting.
