Another local higher education institution is investing in its nursing program as the state faces a shortage of professionals in the field.
Waukesha County Technical College will construct a virtual reality lab for its nursing program with the help of a Wisconsin Technical College System Core Industry Grant. The two-year, $350,000 grant was approved by the WTCS Board during its March meeting and awarded to the school on July 1.
The grant funds will support the purchase of 10 virtual reality stations, the software to run the virtual reality modules and development of related curriculum, according to a college spokesperson.
