Thomas Gibson, who became the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s 10th chancellor in July, outlined his priorities for the institution.

Gibson, who previously lived in New Haven, Connecticut, and Indiana before moving to Wisconsin, emphasized increasing student enrollment as his top priority, followed by supporting student retention through degree completion.

The new chancellor highlighted UWM’s partnerships with regional businesses and industry leaders as a key differentiator in preparing students for the workforce.
