UnitedHealthcare, which is one of the top health insurers in Wisconsin and nationwide, said it will eliminate copays and out-of-pocket payments for insulin, epinephrine and other emergency-use medicines, starting next year for certain group plans.

The new feature will be available for UnitedHealthcare’s standard fully insured group plans for certain preferred prescription drugs, the company said. The plans will be available for UnitedHealthcare members in Wisconsin, a spokesman said Monday.

“This is the latest step in our ongoing effort to ensure people get the drugs they need, and to make health care more affordable,” the company said in a press release.
