Metro Milwaukee is losing the headquarters office of the area’s largest private-sector employer as a result of Advocate Aurora Health’s transaction with Atrium Health, but the question remains what the future holds for the largely unused office space in Milwaukee’s Walkers Point neighborhood.
Advocate Aurora Health maintained a co-corporate headquarters in Milwaukee and suburban Chicago after the April 2018 merger of Milwaukee’s Aurora Health Care and Advocate Health Care of Downers Grove, Illinois. However, the new joint-operating agreement with Atrium Health of North Carolina calls for Charlotte to serve as corporate headquarters for the new Advocate Health.
