A consortium of 15 public and private stakeholders throughout the state — including GE HealthCare and Rockwell Automation — applied to designate Wisconsin as a Regional Tech Hub under the U.S. CHIPS and Science Act of 2022.

It’s a big step for the state, and it has generated support from U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) and Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers.

“Establishing a Regional Tech Hub in Wisconsin will only further advance our state’s standing as a leader in the biotech and personalized medicine industries while supporting jobs, economic growth and research that will better our state, nation and world,” said Evers in release from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. (WEDC).
