Microsoft Corp.’s construction of a $1 billion data center in Mount Pleasant will be only the start of a long term relationship with southeast Wisconsin businesses and communities, Microsoft’s vice president of cloud operations and innovations, Bowen Wallace, said Tuesday.
Wallace spoke to a gathering of about 1,000 Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce members during the organization’s annual meeting at the Bradley Symphony Center in downtown Milwaukee.
As an indication of Microsoft’s commitment to communities in which it does business, Bowen pointed to northeast Wisconsin where the company is a partner with the Green Bay Packers in the Titletown Tech business accelerator and venture capital fund, founded Tech Spark, an Appleton-based technology education and business development intiative that works with schools and employers to train a high-tech workforce, and the company’s workforce development partnerships with New North and the NEW Manufacturing Alliance.
